We believe it is important when starting a sport to understand the fees you will occur along the way.
Excluding equipment- which will vary depending on your specialty and style of fencing, we have created a list of our costs for training.
Annual fee: We do not charge an annual fee at this time
General classes: $25 per class
One-on-one coaching: $25 per lesson
Tournament strip coaching: To be negotiated between fencer and coach per tournament.
These fees are subjective to change based on our operating costs.
All members will also incur a USA fencing membership that can be bought at https://www.usafencing.org/ -Please discuss with your coach which membership is best for you. -
Fencers can choose from 3 different types of weapons.
Sabre: Extremely quick and explosive — attacks are fast, footwork is aggressive, and bouts tend to be over in seconds.
Epee: Patient and tactical — rewards precision and timing. Because there’s no right-of-way, double hits are common, so defense and counterattacks are critical.
Foil: Strategic and technical — emphasizes clean attacks, setups, and feints rather than brute force.
Whichever weapon you choose will determine how you are taught to fence, as well as the rules you are given in competitions.

The type of gear you need depends on the weapon you choose to fence with. We encourage all interested fencers to meet with our coaches to determine which weapon you would like to specialize with before purchasing equipment.
Starter equipment can range from $550-$750 depending on your specialty.
