Coach Jim Martin is a United States Fencing Coaches Association certified Pervot (Level 4 Fencing Coach) in Epee and Foil, as well Moniteur d’Armes (Level 3) with expertise in all three weapons — Foil, Epee, and Saber.
Having studied directly under Maestro Les Stawicki from 2012 to 2023 (when Maestro Stawicki retired), Jim has dedicated himself to coaching and mentoring athletes at all levels, helping them develop both technical mastery and sportsmanship on and off the strip.
Beyond coaching, Jim has made significant contributions to the fencing community. He has served on the USA Fencing SafeSport Resources Team and the USA Fencing Disciplinary Board, where he has helped uphold the integrity, safety, and ethics of the sport. From 2021to 2025, Jim has also served in a leadership role within the USA Fencing Kentucky Division, where he continues to promote the growth, governance, and high standards of fencing at both the state and national levels.
